Edith Simöl has headed the Digital Seniors Service Center at the Austrian Institute for Applied Telecommunications (ÖIAT) since 2017. She is responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of continuing education programs aimed at promoting digital participation among older persons in Austria—ranging from training materials and courses to trainer certification and consulting for educational institutions.

She is a psychologist, a trained media technician and a certified adult educator, bringing both subject-matter and technical expertise to her work—ranging from programming to the design of digital learning programs. She is the author of numerous scholarly publications on everyday digital skills, digital health literacy and online safety for seniors.

A central focus of her work is digital inclusion for all, as well as the right to an analog life.
